Proposed sharing or transfer of technology, information, or tangible items to or from foreign entities must be evaluated for Export Controls and Import implications. The Research Security Officer and Research Security Team are available to assist you.

Research Security Team
Compliance Services works closely with Legal Services; Immigration Services and Support; Global Affairs and Programs; and our Research Security and Export Controls consultants to ensure compliance with federal laws regulating the transfer of sensitive technologies, information, and items to foreign countries and foreign nationals, thereby protecting national security while balancing the University’s commitment to open research. We work closely with our Import Broker to manage complex regulatory, compliance, and logistics requirements for brining international research materials, equipment, and supplies into the United States.
The WFU Export Controls and Imports Programs provide several key functions, including but not limited to, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Training and Education, Technology Control Plans, and Licensing.
